Other than the occasional dye job to battle the streak of poliosis, I'm pretty much a lazy loc-er.īetween the hot-oil and the ACV, I use the Suave. And I'm more or less a quarterly ACV slut. To combat this, I use a hot-oil treatment every now and again. I've dyed my hair black since then, but as long as I use this shampoo, I can feel where the bleached ends existed, and my own natural black is. I made the mistake of bleaching my locs when they first matured 10 months in. Nothing can beat the expensive stuff, but as my locs have gotten longer, spending $15/bottle only to use up 3/4 in one wash is downright ridiculous. In fact, I prefer it to anything else I've used since I've had locs. I've been using this product duo from Day 1 of being loc'd (nearly 3 years now), but I don't have major issues with it. South Texas is hot as all out, so sometimes I need that rinse twice. I twist once a month, but wash every week. If you used this shampoo, I would love to hear your feedback on what you think of it as a clarifier. In the end, the Suave is looking more and more attractive in the long run, but if you looking for a really good clarify, I can't recommend this as a complete replacement. The other shampoo is a MUCH better as a clarifier than this one, but the other shampoo will no doubt get more expensive as my locks get longer. Conditioner is hard to find at the local store.Ĭonclusion: I like this shampoo, and I don't know if I should consider using this product for a couple of month, and then switching to the more expensive brand for a month or two. Not as striping as my other shampoo (I know it weird) but it just doesn't clean as good as my other shampoo. You can find the Shampoo and the Conditioner for $1 at your local dollar store. The COST is the biggest advantage to this product. Conditioner is light and does soften my sisterlocks. Cleans really well and not as striping as my other shampoo*. The smell is just divine and it last for days!
